How to make a primitive Silicon carbide LED – or not. Another failure.

This was supposed to work. A “cats whisker” fine wire touches a Silicon carbide crystal and with the negative electrode and about 12 volts you can at times see a yellow light which is a LED.
This however is not an LED but a simple heating of a semiconductor at a point contact.
Just to show there is power to make sparks and heat things.
