Tesla coil burnout
This Tesla coil burnout occurred when a secondary winding 20 turns from the base short circuited.

Levitron
The Levitron (R) is a small spinning top like magnet that is fully hovering in mid air unsupported. It is rather critical in its dimensions and operation. This requires adjustment by very small weight changes. It is commercially made and sold as a science toy. See their site for details.

Flame Diode
This is a flame diode. A hot filament is used to rectify a high voltage in a similar manner to a vacuum tube. Except it didn’t work for me.

Zinc Negative Resistance Oscillator
A zinc oxide layer can be used to generate RF but just didn’t quite work for me. Yep, failed.

Low Inductance Rolled Capacitor
I was after a homemade rolled cap that would be cheap and reliable enough to use instead of the expensive MMC’s for a Tesla coil.

Rectifying a Tesla Coil
This was an attempt to rectify high voltage, high frequency AC to DC. It didn’t really work.
