The wind was down so it was a good time to bring out the smoke ring machine.
Michael Terren did a brief work experience with the ABC to allow him to do both the sound recording and the original score. The music cleverly fits with the tempo from frantic power to quiet interview and identifies recurrent scenes without dominating.
In winter it is hard to get reliable rain free filming. During this time I had to turn down enquiries from Discovery Channel, BBC and Barcroft’s. Since Ruslan was local, it was simply a case of “yeah, weather looks OK today, let’s do it”.
In a different form of media, this clip was shown at Flickerfest as the introduction to a series of 10 short films shown in the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre on May 16, 2014. PLUS a live demo….
