Exposures are 2.5 secs. In complete darkness, it is quite disorienting.
Perhaps 2000 dots all within the legal limit of 5 mW and most less than 1 mW.
Michael with eyes firmly closed and staying absolutely still for the 2.5 second exposure. Each spot in that area is much less than 1 mW and dot size has expanded to about 10 mm. This reduces the effective power by a factor of at least 4 for a maximum 5 mm pupil diameter. So perhaps 0.1 – 0.2 mW and well within the range of blink safety.
