I participated in the Genographic 2.0 Project run by National Geographic. This gives you genetic information about your ancestry. Cost was around $200 and you send in some cheek swabs for a DNA analysis looking specifically at ancestral heritage. This covers the last few hundreds of thousands of years following human movement from our origins in Africa.

Open Day 2010
For the Home Open day 2010, I got in the pool and also exploded watermelons. I had the usual array of projects set up indoors and various high voltage displays behind barriers. The Tesla coil was the highlight and double exposures under the Tesla coil were popular. There were about 70 people who came through. Maybe it was the free beer…

Belgrade Tesla Museum
The Nikola Tesla Museum from Belgrade has has exhibited in Perth, Western Australia in 2006 and 2011. I was involved as a side attraction as Dr Electric giving a Tesla coil performance which I am explaining above. A bit of cosplay was involved as appropriate to the theme.
