I have finally switched on my laser fibre optic implants that connect my fingertips to the 3 laser units in their silicone casing. Geek cred +++.
“Continue reading” to see how this was done. (No Photoshopping ever)
Cool as that might be, its not actually true. But what is really going on with these two alternating photos?
The 3 laser beams are external and the difference between the two photos is that the beams were made visible by a trace of fog. It looks a little like they are shooting out of my fingers.
The beams of course are striking my fingertips from an external source and become visible when the fog is added from the blue commercial fog machine on the left. It is interesting how the beams completely disappear with the fog off and alternating the photos gives the laser hand effects.
The lasers are blue multispectral Argon about 14 mW, red HeNe 10 mW and green diode 16 mW visible. It was a bit tricky to run all this keeping my left hand still while operating the fog machine and camera. Some day I will have to get laser hand effects for my other fingers.
