Pyramidal magnets result in an increased field. In this case from 730 to 831 milli-Tesla.

The increased magnetic field strength is due to a flux concentration, not simply the extra magnets.
The highest field strength here appears to be a very small area in the centre of the pole.
Pyramidal magnets can be shaped specifically or built up by a layer of discs of smoothly increasing diameter. In addition the field can be increased by having two magnets facing each other. They must be well supported externally as the attractive forces can be large.
The current permanent magnet record for 2mm gap is over 5 tesla.
