Thermal infrared camera

Thermal infrared camera of dog split screen

Got my thermal infrared camera attachment for my Samsung phone.  Here with a split regular camera and Thermal, showing the carpet to be 20 deg C. The dogs ear was 33 deg C.
Note that this is not a camera picking up infrared lights but true thermal imaging using long wave infrared 7.2 – 13 microns with vanadium oxide microbolometer array. (Visible light is 0.4 to 0.7 microns).

This is made by Seek Thermal for something like $ 200 US.

It is the Seek Thermal. I’ve not done comparative measurements with near IR temp probes and thermocouples. I guess I would have to come up to speed with emissivity at the different wavelengths.
Interestingly the sky is -14 degrees at that wavelength. When reflected off a tin roof, the sky reflection can confuse things.
