And more. Here are 118 more projects of mine. This section is a diverse mix of strange physics, electrical oddities, lasers, magnetic levitation, monster LEDs, radioactivity and bizarre substances.

Geiger Counter

Geiger counter reading 1080 counts per minute of Gamma radiation from a number of Uranium glass marbles.

A Geiger counter measures various types of ionising radiation such as Gamma rays. Shown here with antique Uranium marbles that were bright due to some fluorescence.

Spinthariscope

Spinthariscope showing phosphor being lit by UV source and fluorescing. The nuclear flashes are extremely faint in comparison.

The spinthariscope made from around the house materials demonstrates INDIVIDUAL radioactive decays.

Helium Neon Laser 10 mW

Oblivious to the laser, Justin does not heed his father's warnings.

A low powered red laser seen here. Remember the laser-in-the-groin-shots in Bond’s Gold Finger?  Careful Justin!

Old Helium Neon lasers

This old HeNe laser uses my microwave oven supply and is using 2kV hereA working HeNe tube is shown below running at 2 kV with a 330 kohm resistor. It takes about 3 – 4 kV to trigger. It is shown firing through a 15,000 lines per inch diffraction grating and shows the first order spectra.
